This article describes the career profile of Professional Divers. Basically, Professional Divers are divers that are paid for the job. They must be physically very fit. This is because the sea can be a harsh environment.
Professional Divers may be employed in the following areas of work:
- Off shore diving
- Inshore diving - often involves underwater repair and engineering work
- HAZMAT - This involves diving for sewage and chemicals.
- Salvage works
- Scientific and deep sea exploration
- Underwater photography and filming
All divers must be strong swimmers. They have to undergo effective training as the job is potential dangerous. The training must be certified and satisfy legislation.
