The Database Analyst is the technical expert that analyses, develops, and implements the physical database design in support of an organization’s IT requirements.
His job often includes disaster recovery, performance analysis and tuning, data dictionary maintenance, as well as database design.
A Database Analyst is expected to provide input on highly complex and high-impacting decisions within his specialty. He usually possesses a degree in computer-related studies or Information Systems with 7-10 years of experience in the IT and business experience.
With a good track record, he may progress to become a Database Administrator at a large installation, or a Database Vendor that provides sales and consulting services.
