An aerobic instructor teaches aerobic exercise. This is often done at a class size level.

Aerobic exercises are types of physical exercises that involve or enhance oxygen consumption by the body. By broad definition, any activity that uses large muscle groups that are maintained continuously and/or in a rhythmic manner can be considered as aerobic exercises.

Typically, an aerobic exercise session consists of 3 stages:

1. Warming up period

2. Exercise period. This is often carried out for 20 minutes or more.

3. Cooling down period

An Aerobic Instructor must be physically fit and be able to communicate to a large group while performing the exercises. To be an Aerobic Instructor, certification may be required. Aerobic Instructor certifications often require the knowledge of CPR.

Employment opportunities can be find in places such as corporate health clubs, recreational clubs. gyms and hospitals.
