The Career Profile of the Multimedia Developer will be described in this article. A Multimedia Developer generates and modifies graphical interfaces, animations, audio, video and/ or still images for use in technology-based education, presentations and the internet.
He is expected to produce and acquire digital media as well as visual and functional design for the digital media all according to his client’s requirements. His job also includes testing the digital media application and managing the development and implementation of multimedia products.
He has to be able to work independently as well as part of a team. He must have a creative streak and be able to communicate his ideas via user-centered design methodology, user scenarios and interactive prototypes. Like most design jobs, this job requires one to be able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
A Multimedia Developer usually has a Diploma in computer-related studies, Software Programming, Information Systems, or Graphic Design. With experience, he can progress to become a Multimedia Producer, or a New Media Creative Director in a new media advertising agency.
