This article talks about the career profile of the Production Designer. A production designer designs the sets and props for a theatre, film or television production.
He studies the production script and conceptualizes the design of the set with the Director or Choreographer. He presents his ideas with drawings (or construction drawings if the production does not have a Technical Director) and scale models, and oversees the execution of the production design once it has been approved.
A production designer usually has a Bachelor of Arts (Hon) in Interior Design/ Graphic Design, a Diploma in Communication Design/ Interior Design or a Master of Arts Design.
